FAQ & Features
Everything you need to know about I Has Stuff.
Getting Started
What is I Has Stuff?
I Has Stuff is a collection tracking platform for collectors of all kinds. Whether you collect action figures, trading cards, vinyl records, sneakers, or anything else — we give you structured checklists, real-time stats, and a community of collectors to connect with.
Is it free?
Yes. All core features are free with no limits on your collection size. We offer an optional Verified Collector plan that unlocks marketplace features and a verified badge.
How do I get started?
Create a free account, then browse the Find Checklists page to find collections that match what you collect. Click "Add to Collection" to start tracking. You can also create your own checklists from scratch.
Checklists & Items
What is a checklist?
A checklist is a structured list of collectible items. For example, "Hot Toys Marvel" might contain every Hot Toys figure from Marvel movies. Each item can have images, prices, years, manufacturers, SKUs, descriptions, tags, and custom fields.
Can I organize checklists into sub-categories?
Yes. Checklists support nested hierarchies — you can create parent checklists with child checklists underneath. For example, "Hot Toys" could contain sub-checklists for each movie franchise.
What are custom fields?
When creating a checklist, you can define custom fields beyond the standard ones (name, price, year, etc.). This lets you track collection-specific data like "edition number", "colorway", or "grading" — whatever fits your collection.
Can I make my checklist public?
Yes. Checklists can be toggled between Public and Private. Public checklists appear in search, on your profile, and can be found by other collectors. Other users can add your public checklist to their own collection and start tracking against it.
Can others contribute to my checklist?
Yes. You can add members to your checklist with different roles: Owners have full control, Admins can edit items, and Moderators can review change requests. Community members can submit image and data corrections through the change request system.
Collection Tracking
What can I track for each item?
For every item in your collection, you can track:
- Ownership status — Owned, Wanted, For Sale, or Trade
- Condition — New, Mint, Used, Loose, or Complete
- Quantity — How many copies you own
- Rating — 5-star rating with half-star precision
- Sale price — Your asking price for items listed for sale
- Personal notes — Free-text notes per item
- Photos — Upload multiple images of your actual item
What are collections?
Collections let you group your tracked checklists into named sets. For example, you might have a "Display Shelf" collection with your favorite figures, and a "Storage" collection for items in boxes. Collections can be made public and showcased on your profile.
What happens when a checklist owner updates an item?
You can choose how to handle updates per checklist: accept all changes automatically, reject them, or be prompted to review each one. This is set in your per-checklist tracking settings.
Stats & Value Dashboard
What stats does I Has Stuff track?
Your dashboard shows:
- Estimated collection value — Total value of owned items with listed prices
- Ownership breakdown — Pie chart of owned / wanted / for sale / trade
- Condition breakdown — Bar chart by item condition
- Checklist completion — Progress bars showing how close you are to completing each checklist
- Most valuable items — Your top 10 items by price
- Rating distribution — How you rate your collection
- Image coverage — What percentage of your items have photos
- Listing activity — Active and expired marketplace listings
Is there a value history tracker?
Yes. The Value Dashboard shows your portfolio value over time as a line chart, value breakdown by category, and price history for individual items. This uses a combination of listed prices and eBay sold comparables when available.
Can I generate insurance reports?
Yes. You can export professional valuation reports as PDF or Excel, itemized by checklist with conditions, quantities, and values — suitable for insurance documentation.
Marketplace & Trading
How does the marketplace work?
Mark items as "For Sale" or "Trade" in your collection, set a price, and they appear in the Marketplace. Other collectors can browse, filter by condition and price, and message you directly. Marketplace features require the Verified Collector plan.
What is trade matching?
Trade matching automatically finds collectors who have items you want AND want items you have. It calculates a match score and lets you message the other collector with one click — no manual searching required.
Achievements & Rewards
How do achievements work?
Achievements are badges you earn automatically by using the platform. As you add items, create checklists, engage with the community, and share your collection, you unlock badges that appear on your profile. There are 21 achievements across 5 categories.
Where are achievements displayed?
Achievements appear on your public profile page. Locked achievements show as greyed-out lock icons so you can see what's left to earn. Hover over any badge to see its name, description, and unlock date.
Import & Export
Can I import my existing collection?
Yes. The CSV Import Wizard lets you upload a CSV file, map columns to item fields, and bulk-create items in a checklist. It supports all standard fields plus custom fields.
What export formats are available?
You can export your collection data as CSV, PDF, or Excel (XLSX). The PDF export generates a professional valuation report suitable for insurance purposes.
